The Center for Reference and Qualification for Sustainability-CESUP, Center for Environmental Education, created by INCT Acqua, is participating in the Adopt a Spring Project in the Alto Paraopeba Region, which seeks to encourage voluntary community participation in the environmental management process.

It is an initiative developed in partnership with Geopark Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Movimento das Águas, rural owner, Environmental Police, Copasa, Technical School of Health-Estec.

The chosen source is located in the Municipality of Conselheiro Lafaiete-MG, Buarque de Macedo Rural Community and the criteria of choice were the owner’s environmental awareness, the anthropic interference, the flow volume and importance of the source to the Bananeiras River basin, which supplies the municipality of Conselheiro Lafaiete. The technical visit took place on October 17, 2017 and the completion of the First Stage will be through November 25, 2017.

The Unit will be an educator space and model of best practices to be replicated in the Upper Paraopeba Territory.
